Aachen/Paris 08.01.2018 The German technology provider GoalControl, one of two licensed providers of Goal Line Technology, just got the request from the French League Federation (LFP) to provide Goal Line Technology to the French Cup Championship starting from the quarter finals.
Simon Rolfes, Chairman of GoalControl sees this new contract as confirmation of the continually enhancements of the system: “I think the use of technology in Sports is important and will help to make the sports more fair. The referee on the pitch will never be able to see every game situation 100% correct as his view can be blocked by players on the pitch. This new contract shows that our development is counting in now.”

The system will be used already during this weeks when the quarter finals will be played. The contract is signed for all games until the end of the cup.
The special Ball for the Cup Championship passes successful the FIFA FIT last week and can be used during the matches.

GoalControl with it’s Goal Line Technology was the first provider that was used during a FIFA World Cup and is used in more than 50m Arenas all over the world now. The LFP is using the system in the Ligue 1 and now also in the Cup Championship. The system is also used in several Stadiums around the world and will be used for the Final Four of the Cup Championship in Portugal at the end of the month.
