Football's world governing body FIFA has commissioned GoalControl GmbH to supply its camera-based goal-line technology system "GoalControl-4D" for the upcoming 2014 FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco. It is the fourth occasion that FIFA has called upon the services of the Würselen-based company for a major international tournament.

"We are extremely delighted about the continuation of our cooperation and the trust FIFA have shown in us in this process. We see this as clear proof of the efficiency and the reliability of our system technology," said Dirk Broichhausen, the Managing Director of GoalControl GmbH. Football's world governing body had already shown itself to be extremely satisfied with the use of the goal-line technology (GLT) system in the direct aftermath of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and drew a thoroughly positive conclusion of its partnership with the German system provider. The system was in place for all 64 matches at the tournament, making football history in the process.

This year's Club World Cup will take place in Morocco from 10th to 20th December in stadia in Marrakech and Rabat, where GoalControl has already begun the system installations. In total, seven club sides from all of FIFA's continental confederations will play 8 matches in a bid to determine a successor to FC Bayern Munich, who won last year's edition of the competition in Morocco. This year's European representatives will be 2014 UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid, who enter the competition in the first semi-final.

The "GoalControl-4D" system, which received an official FIFA license in February 2013, has since been successfully used at international tournaments such as the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.
